Off The Record

Nothing New

New School 116

Released on February 3, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Off The Record initially signed with Tooth & Nail and recorded their first album, Remember When, at the infamous Blasting Room with legendary musicians and producers Bill Stevenson and Stephan Egerton, back in 2000. After its release, the band signed with New School Records and recorded their 2nd album, Mulligan, which opened doors for the band to tour and/or share the stage with acts, such as Strung Out, MXPX, The Vandals, Slick Shoes, Dogwood, Over It and more.

In mid-2003, Off The Record was approached by Ryan Greene - one of punk rock's most respected producers - about putting his talent to work for them. Neither Off The Record nor New School could turn down his proposal, so the band went into the studio in the summer of 2003 to record Nothing New. An album that will soon be a punk rock masterpiece! The quartet combines metal, punk and pop to create a five-track EP of catchy melodies that will leave you singing and head-banging along for hours. This is definitely a gateway to a very bright future!

Note: This is an enhanced disc which contains a music video, live footage and a band interview when placed in your computers CD-Rom drive.

WOW. These guys keep picking up steam as the albums are released. If this were a full length, these guys would be talking to Hopeless or Fat right about now. Released early last year, "Nothing New" is an amazing explosion of fast riffs and catchy tunes that definitely leaves you wanting. And at that price, can you afford to say no? Buy this EP!

Wow, I really dig these songs. I didn't know what to expect when I put it into my CD player, but it did not disappoint me.

Pop-punk with an edge. This band is headed in the right direction. I recommend this EP and am awaiting the full length with anticipation!

This CD rocks! After hearing Mulligan, I gave up on these guys because that CD sucked. But I saw an ad for this record and it was cheap, so I figured why not check it out. To my surprise the guys wrote some good music! It’s amazing what a good producer (Ryan Greene) can do for a band. Hopefully their next record will be as good, because 5 songs are just not enough. If you are a fan of Thrice or Strung Out, you will totally dig these guys. Two thumbs up!!!!!!!!

This CD is the shit! "Remember When" was good, "Mulligan" sucked, and this beats them all out! Pop Punk with a metal edge, and it's all very catchy...is there anything better? If they stay with this style and sound for their next full length, I can't wait!

This EP is great. Off the record makes me think of Lagwagon and No use for a name with a little twist of metal. Some fast songs and some mid-tempo songs. The EP is produced by Ryan Greene, and you can hear it. Really good sound and feeling. I would recommend it to everyone who likes good punk music. Can't wait for their next full-length.

This cd was a relief to me

I loved Off The Record when I got Remember When and then was pretty put off when they released Mulligan I realise it was largely the production that let that cd down.

This ep shows they are back the way they should be Ryan Greene has injected new life into them.

Its only an ep and only 13 minutes, but you can bet the next full length will be killer
