Pig Destroyer

Painter Of Dead Girls

Robotic Empire 34

Released on January 27, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Comprised of highly sought-out, early and obscure material from Virginian cult-favorites Pig Destroyer, this collection disc serves as a window into the twisted minds of true grind-fueled madmen.

Brutal riff upon riff overlay some of the fastest yet most intricate and stylish drums in the grind game, all conjoined with some of the most manic and terrifying screams ever captured by recording implements. The fact that this band is only a three-piece is nothing short of mind-boggling, and by seamlessly weaving the majority of heavy music genres (thrash, punk rock, heavy metal, grindcore, death metal, technical mathy hardcore, etc.), it's no real surprise that these guys are often hailed as the kings of modern heavy music.

I've been a fan of Pig Destroyer for a long time, but I had never heard anything off of Painter Of Dead Girls until now. This album is short, heavy, and to the point. The recording quality is a little scratchy, but a good listen. As compared to their other releases, it's not the greatest, but is well worth it.

I've always liked Pig Destroyer's song structure - short, brutal, and to the point. The lyrics are written right in tune with the music, so there's never a sense of witless fillers... anywhere. Everything corresponds with itself to produce an immense slaughter-prone soundtrack. Fantastic songs--short, but awesome--that appease my grindcore fantasies.

I'm a big fan of these guys, they are fucking awesome! I didn't like cd as much as their other ones though, Terryfier is their best so far. The recordings on here are a bit less than desirable, meaning it's kinda scratchy sounding. However, they are still blazing fast, scary fucking metal gods so buy it if you like them already, if you're new to them, I'd suggest getting Terryfier first. Do what ya want barrel ass!

To be honest, this is a little patchy in comparison to Pig Destroyer's full-lengths, but I suppose that's to be expected from what is essentially an off-cuts and obscurities CD. It still has all the grind, groove and gore of "Prowler in the Yard", but I wouldn't bother buying this before you own the albums themselves.

One for completists.
