Sirens and Condolences (Enhanced)

Victory 211.2

Released on January 27, 2004

When Bayside sings of devastation and betrayal in songs like "How To Fix Everything" and "Guardrail" the emphasis is always placed equally on all parties involved. Honest self-examination, no matter how painful, brings a hope of redemption to these intimate, dark narratives of brooding and despair.Though their experiences in life have tested them, Bayside has found a way to complete themselves through the writing of meaningful lyrics and beautiful melodies, accompanied by touring and the love of music.

Bayside developed their own style based on soaring vocals, powerful guitar work and brooding lyrics from influences as diverse as The Smiths, the Smoking Popes, and Nirvana, to the Cure, Stevie Wonder and Nick Drake. "Sirens and Condolences" picks up where Smoking Pope's "Destination Failure" and Jawbreaker's "Dear You" left off, a new entry in the field of melodic rock with a dangerous edge that is sure to attain the status of a classic.

I really tracks 1, 2, 4, & 8. They are easily some of my all time favorite Bayside songs. The rest of the album was kinda meh to me, but a lot of other people seem to like it, so maybe you should give it a chance. I guess I don't care for some of the songs just because I know Anthony didn't write the lyrics on this album. This album is a bit more emo sounding too, and I don't really care for all that stuff. I like emotion, but emo is not my thing. But yeah, some really good songs, and some really crappy ones (just my opinion people, not a fact). Give it a try. Geesh.

It sounds like... Bayside. I think that there is a difference between this album and BAYSIDE, but this is still an amazing album. I adore every single track on this CD.

Bayside.....such nice guys. Im so sorry for the lost brother "Beatz" ...after that being said Sirens is a great cd..It starts off strong with the first 3-4 songs gets kinda soft and week in the middle..yet still very good. i would have to say the newer cd "Self Title" is better. I look forward to your future releases!

This is a great cd with more than just a few good songs, these guys put a lot of thought and time into there songs insted of just throwing three chords together and calling it a done. This is one of the best cd's i own

Don't stop rock, meets solid vocals and great touching lyrics. What more could you ask of band unless you want them to be bitchy, sad Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional look a likes which thank god they aren't. But this was a great production. The album starts hard, works its way smooth in "A Synonym For Acquiesce" (which is my personal favorite) and ends hard. A+ for the boys of Bayside for putting out a great set of numbers for anyones playlist... and not to mention Loveless Wrists off of PunkvsEmo and their split with Name Taken is amazing.

i had a really short period where i though this band was awesome. i can totally understand where people are coming from when they say this band borrows a lot from "alkaline trio". maybe its just cuz i've been through a breakup recently. maybe its because i needed something new that really hails its roots from old. but i do still respect these guys. if you can't rock out to "a synonym for aquiesce" then forget you, man. this gets 4/5 because it shows talent, but nothing i haven't heard before.

People have said they are just like Alkaline Trio, However they are not nearly as good, and their lyrics leave much to be desired. Nothing on the CD stands out to me. Average band, Average CD

i bought this for a girl i was dating at the time, and then she broke up with me. maybe i should have bought this for myself, its actually pretty good. the first half of the album is totally rad, but the second half filters out, but all around its still a good cd.
