What can I say that hasn't been said already? This album is very influential and a classic. You know I read somewhere that this album was going to be re-released by another label at some point in 2006... That was back like two months ago, so I'm not sure what's happening about that now. Well whatever, enjoy!

It's about time I got a real copy of this... I've loved Gorilla Biscuits for years and there's a damn good reason that GB have been such a major influence upon countless bands throughout the punk spectrum. Although I hate the song "Sitting Around At Home" and the harmonica solo on "Start Today" is completely ridiculous, you just can't fuck with this album. If you're down with SXEHC and you don't have this album or anything at all by Minor Threat, you just don't know what's up...

This cd is amazing. It is one of the best cd's I've ever heard. I borrowed this a couple years ago from some straight edge kid and couldn't stop listening to it. I bought their self-titled, which is very good but nowhere near as good as this one. This album sounds alot like Minor Threat, although it's recorded at a better quality. It's fast, hard, and upbeat. It hardly has any straight edge lyrics at all, and the ones that are sxe aren't preachy at all, which is cool. If you like 80's punk and hardcore then fucking pick this up. You seriously won't regret it

What is there left to be said about this incredible album and this incredible band?

'Start Today' is easily one of the most posi, up-beat and important hardcore records of all time, and an album that has yet to be matched in terms of true, honest heart. This is one of the defining hardcore records, and should be the cornerstone to anyone's collection. Before "edge" became a byword for negativity, nihilism and violence, these guys wrote the book on being positive and making a change whilst staying intelligent and empassioned, proving that punk rock doesn't equal hatred and apathy.

After all, how many hardcore bands these days could write the lyric: "Too bad / You can't see / All the good things that I see!"

Silly 80's hardcore that most people want to get because it always gets number 4 or 5 in “The Top 50 Best Punk Bands Ever” under shit like: “Good Charlotte gets number two because they paid us a million fucking dollars to say so” and “The Clash gets number one on our countdown for London Calling because Blah blah blah the clash was so good and so progressive and blah blah blah… OHH! THE CLASH OOH AAH! Big shit deal, fuck the clash. My point is nobody really listens to stuff like this anymore; they just buy it so people will think they “know their roots” in an attempt to look cool. If you are one of those people, Die. And do it now, okay? Nobody wants to wait for you to stop sucking. This record is rad. If you are for real buy it.

OK. This is Dan, btw. Yeah, Howard's my dad. so what. Anyway, amazing album. Its really fast, fairly melodic 80's straightedge hardcore. Obviously influenced by Minor Threat, but this is so much more than a blatant ripoff. With some blues and pop elements, as well as good use of the 'start-stop' formula and heavy mosh parts, you can tell that Civ and all the other guys actually put some thought into the songwriting. It even includes a couple songs from the Gorilla Biscuits LP, so its definitly worth getting this. Every song is really good. GET THIS!!!!
