Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood is the last album released by American horror punk band Misfits to feature founding member and lead vocalist, Glenn Danzig. Danzig released it on his Plan 9 label in December 1983, two months after he played his last concert with the band. It was noticeably harder and faster than their previous releases, showing more of a hardcore punk sound. Since it's release it has often been referred to as simply "Earth A.D." amongst fans. Originally released as a 9 song LP, it was later issued with the three tracks of the Die, Die My Darling EP incorporated into the track listing: "Die, Die My Darling", "Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?" and "We Bite". Glenn Danzig has said that the tracks "Bloodfeast" and "Death Comes Ripping" were originally intended for Samhain's first release, but were added to what would be the Misfits' final record in a last-ditch effort to save the band. Metallica covered "Die, Die My Darling" for their 1998 cover album Garage Inc, as well as "Green Hell", which was originally covered by Metallica for their 1987 album, Garage Days Re-Revisited, as part of a medley with "Last Caress". British extreme metal band Cradle of Filth covered "Death Comes Ripping" for their 1999 release From the Cradle to Enslave.

Seems that a lot of people don't care much for this one, but I think it's fucking great! Not their best, but it comes pretty close. Heavy as fuck & short & fast!

I was worried when i heard that this lp was not danzig, of course its danzig how can you act like if you know somebody you never met. just cuz it sounds diff. doesnt mean you can say it sux for the misfits true last cd. I think the misfits should have changed their name when danzig left cuz i cant seem to like new misfits its just not misfits id say its another band cuz danzig is the one that brought the misfits to life. im not saying new misfits is bad but its just not the same. but if u like misfits get this cd its not dissapointing at all. the only reason i put a four star is that i dont play this as much as their other cds. but compared to most other bands i wouldve put a five star.

This is the 2nd best album from the 1st best band of all time. If your into that Good Charlotte bullshit you should stay away from this completly, no really it's probably unsafe for you to even try to listen to this cuz it's really hardcore and it'll probably make your head explode or somthing. But if you're into hardcore punk then this is all you get this and "Walk Among Us" but that one is kinda hard to find on vinyl.

This is one of the best misfits albums ever created besides staic age and walk among us.EARTH A D to me reached a new style and sound to speed metal. although the misfits may be sure enough the best punk band to come straght out of new jersey this band reached a faster hard rocking sound in this album and i give it's demonism 138 thumbs up and a devilock especially for DANZIG's cut clean voice which made the band come together so good.
