This is a very special record to me. Not only is it the first album I listened to with vocals sang solely in Swedish, but it also inspired me to learn the language. Over 13 years ago a friend handed me a burned copy of Demoner & the Lisa ep and said, just listen to the whole thing before you say anything. Let's just say, I had never heard such melodic vocals sang over such furiously technical punk rock and instantly fell in love with Skumdum. I didn't understand it, but felt it. It drove me to contact the band and develop a relationship through emails and music sites ( I stayed in contact with the band over the years as they grew and began singing in English & Spanish. Skip a few years down the road. Playing in a band heavily influenced by Swedish Punk, I get asked the question that will forever be one of the greatest moments in memory "Would your band want to do a split cd with Skumdum?" Dream achieved. "Skumdum vs. Hero of Our Time - 2 Sides of the Story" was created. What an honor! Skumdum changed the way I view music and will forever be a band that I hold close to my heart. I strongly recommend this record to anyone into Melodic Punk Rock & Skatepunk. They do sing in English & Spanish now so it is easier for more people to listen to them, and might I add, they do it damn well! Also, the lyrics are amazing in all languages. Very intelligent and well thought out songs by a kickass band. Check them out, you wont be disappointed!
