I Love this album, I have margin walker LP and the s/t on LP but when i want to listen to those songs I but this in, not the LP's. If you are a fugazi fan, then you sould buy it.

Wow. Just wow. I wasn't too sure I wanted this at first, but I got it anyway, and I'm definitly glad I did! It's one of those cds you can just leave in you cd player for weeks and not get even slightly tired of it. Better yet, the great Ian Mackaye is in this band! I was surprised to see him in the back of the cd jacket. This is my first Fugazi Cd, and will certainly not be the last!

Hard as it is to believe that some people still don't know about this band, there is the off chance that you learned about "punk rock" through some blink-182 song on your local Top 40 station and didn't discover the truth until just yesterday. Well then, welcome to the real world. This right here is the album that defined the Fugazi sound and inspired countless imitators, as you've no doubt heard from some devoted fan speaking glowingly of Ian McKaye and the boys. It turns out all the rumors were true. The 13 Song compilation doesn't waste a single note on filler or imperfection. That said, it can also be frustrating for someone who wants a more expansive or mature sound from their records. In that case, try Red Medicine. There you'll find lots more experimentation, looser arrangements, and probably the only song that lets their bass player sing.

What can I say, of course it's five stars. No one is too hardcore for Fugazi, I love Municipal Waste and Slayer, but I love Fugazi too. The musicianship, though not show-offy and comepletely ground breaking is so solid and perfect it's almost moving. I actually shit myself the first time I heard this thing.

This Cd has some really kick ass stuff for it. Its a wierd buy for me since not all of its "punk" but if i had to label it, i call it experimental punk. The lyrics are really fcuked up and off the wall like someone on acid wrote them, which is kinda cool at first but then just boring. I think its also alot different from thier new stuff which is way more like the emo stuff that people always lable this band as anyways. This is actually alot better than Minor threat now that i think about. True Minor Threat had more to say but when you listen to the CD, it all pretty much sounds like the same track or the same riff. Here, the songs are pretty much all distinct and likable. Some are fast and some are alow but they all have a really cool bass or guitar intro, which is moe than can be said about Minor Threat. Props to Ian Mcaye.

fugazi are a really great band, but they are also quite overhyped. this cd is ACE, but i expected more from the apparent legends of the emo scene.

Fugazi are one of the most original and daring bands of thier generation. Although this cd is great it doesn't show just how versatile the band can be. 13 songs, is among my favorite fugazi cds, but if you want to hear something extremely well crafted listen to the argument.

None of the piano, double drumming, etc. on this album. The only thing that seems exprerimental or progressive about this album are the lyrics, which run anywhere from vague to metaphorical to completely nonsensical. "...Never licked this side of dying before..."

The sound is just great. I don't know of a band to compare Fugazi to, as far as their sound goes. A little slower than most bands, and good bit more complex. Due to a combination of sleepiness and stupidity, I'm going to say they resemble the illegitimate child of Minor Threat and Operation Ivy.
