You know what you're getting. Justin Pearson, foundations of screamo, San Diego scene, etc. etc. Not the best band to come out of that scene, but they do have an undeniable part in emocore/skramz history. For what it's worth, this is the only one of Pearson's bands that I really like, although I'm guessing he was a douchebag even then.

justin pearson should be sainted. i love this band so much. i would kill for them to get back together and make a new one or at least remix and remaster this one. you tell where alot of bands get their sound from this.

These guys are one of the most influential and unappreciated hardcore bands. Their sound is responsible for bands such as The Blood Brothers, Refused, and just about anybody else who fused jazz with hardcore. I love bands with swagger in their music and these guys definitely have that. Like they say "It's time to stop singin' and it's time to start swingin'"
I for one say: "BABY YEAH!"

heard lots of good things about this album, and it turns out to be a winner. the jazz meets emo description is kind a throw off. there are jazz samples at the end (and begining of one song), but there's no emo in this album for sure. straight up rock, baby.

When your in a bad mood or just want to vent a little, pop on Swing Kids and their music will envelope you in a cloak of chaotic noise and frenzied sounds. The Swing Kids are definately one of the more unique hardcore/emo bands I have heard, with one track blending together a nice catchy swing-jazz intro, gradually smashing into an all out assault of grinding guitars and ear-throbbing screaming. All in all, a seminal record in the hardcore-emo era and a must have for fans of merel, heroin, or antoich arrow. Not to mention a really really cool cover photo of the band!!!

Jazz and emo fused together?! If I'm dreaming I don't wanna wake up. You won't hear a better mix of the two out there. Put your trust and $12 bucks in this band and you can thank Justin Pearson and company later.
