In my opinion, the Take Action compilations are really sweet deals: good music, good cause. I have all three samplers, and this one is my favorite. Like Vol. 2, the first CD is mostly "harder" stuff and the second CD is much poppier. For the most part, if you appreciate the "alternative" music genre, you will find something you like. I admit to being a fan of pop/rock, and I found a lot of great tracks on both CDs.
My favorite tracks on CD 1 = Beautiful Mistake, Rise Against, and Avenged 7X.
My favorite tracks on CD 2 = Melee, Copeland, and Jupiter Sunrise.

This is one of the better compilations I have, considering that it has two cds featuring many cool bands. The first disc is better than the second in my opinion, but both feature some standout tracks. If you haven't heard of any of the bands on this comp before, they chose pretty good tracks from each band making it a solid indicator of whether or not you would like them. I would recommend this cd, especially for the cheap price.

This is an awesome comp CD from Sub City Records. 45 tracks for $5.75 is an absolute steal, and their are a lot of good songs. And, just like all the Take Action Samplers, this one benefits a good cause. This CD is more for fans of hardcore and emo. Stand-out tracks are Yellowcard, Thursday, Rise Against, Ataris, Rufio, and Fallout Boy.

i'd buy these even if they were absolutely horrible, but luckily, they're fantastic. but i'd get them based on the fact that they're cheap and for an excellent cause. its's upsettignt hough when i read the reviews from vol 2 that these cds are the introduction to such great bands like recover, thrice, thursday, yellowcard, avenged sevenfold, anti flag, amazing transparent man, poison the well, snapcase, good riddance, alkaline trio......and basically everyband that has been on any of the three discs. more songs doesnt make it better though, i like vol 1 most, and this and 2 are pretty equal.

there can't be any better value than this; 44 songs or whatever for like $6. plus, it's for a great cause. musically, this piece has something for one and all. props to thursday, rise against, and shai hulud for the best tracks on the first cd and yellowcard, cursive, and the bronx for some standouts on the second cd. and if you are like me and never heard sinai beach before you own this cd, prepare to have your face ripped off.
