Dead Teenager 10

Released on September 2, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

This result of possible childhood trauma is a hard-rocking, hair-swinging outfit made up of four scruffy Texans who look like they’d be just as comfortable working on cars or beating your ass behind a 7-Eleven as they are playing a thrashy amalgam of psycho-tinged howling rock. Throat-raking vocals and greasy guitars rip through this disc with the fury of a Lubbock dust storm. Jeff Hirshberg, Speedealer’s guiding force, founder and frontman, brings to the band an all-consuming intensity that, at times, manifests itself in less than favorable ways – like the time he spat at his bandmates for their sub-par execution of a song during a Riverside show in 1996. More often, though, his unyielding tenacity drives the four-man Speedealer metal machine to greater heights of sonic domination.

Yes indeed! This is a brick of rock n' roll hitting hard and grooves all the way to the bar! Fast and cool production, whole record done in 1 and a half day. One take on each song, top notch! Get this one now!

This is a prime example of how loud, fast, aggressive rock'n'roll should sound. Musically, Speedealer could be described as Zeke meets Melvins, and in terms of overall atmosphere, this album reminds me of someone's unwanted twin, kept locked away in the attic and fed nothing but Jack Daniels and Motorhead. It really is that good. The production might sound a bit shoddy'n'muddy, but music like this was never meant to be polished to a pop-punk high gloss. It's fast, it's heavy, it's in-your-face, it's got enough attitude to make your vital organs ache. In short, it rocks. You will like it.
