Good cd for fans of PTW only. If you want to buy only 1 cd from this band, try Opposite of december or maybe Tear from the red (who is fucking great, but OOD is one of my fav cd ever!!)
dunno...miss the magic of OOP but really nice shit

Seems to be missing a lot of the heart that "Opposite of December" carried, but no worse than any other Hardcore band. Their sound is still great - but I just didn't feel it like I did the first time I heard their first album.

I think this cd is great. I can't get aenough of the metal and hardcore style of their music. They are a great band and I do see that there is more singing in it but that is what makes things good too. You mix a little metal then kinda tone it down but don't get me wrong there isnt too much singing so it all just fits in. I have heard some of there older stuff too and it sounds just as good as YCBY. Hoping to check into those as soon as i get some money.

allot of people may complain about Poison the Well not producing an album like Opposite of December.. well.. they already made an album like that! the band is clearly developing into a more mature and refined form of hardcore/metalcore.. and they're not doing anything wrong! i think this is their best album up to date.. the vocals are at an immensly high level..this proves just by listening to track 4.. Poison The Well isn't just the pioneer of the metalcore-hype.. they moved on while other bands keep making the same style of music.. i think they deserve allot of credit for that.. well.. the album is great.. agressive and fast..with NO double-bass drumming..talking about change...but still oh so great..

Hmmm..well this cd is good. However, no where near as good as the other stuff. Sounds more like Hatebreed than the usual PTW. Still a good buy.

this cd is okay, not up to par with past releases such as opposite of december and tear from the red" i dont care what anyone says, that cd is great". the screaming parts are great but there is just to much singing involved, if this is your first poison the well cd you are going to purchase, clich the back button and buy something a little older and work your way up to this one

If you'd listen to all the scenesters, you might think this is the worst album of all time. Yes, there is more "gayass" singing. Yes, there are fewer mosh parts.
Who the hell cares? PTW have never made a bad album, and just because it's become a hipster olympic sport to hate on them for being "sellouts" doesn't make this one an exception to that rule. In fact, it's quite great. This is probably their most cohesive effort to date. To use a really tired cliche, they've grown a lot on this release. The songwriting is top notch, the production is killer, the emotion and sincerity is there in spades.
If you're some lambgoat asshole who needs to limit what you listen to based on how "scene" a band is, then by all means go on trash talking PTW for being on a major and not making The Opposite Of December all over again. But for the rest of us, this record delivers the rock goodness big time. Check it out.

I just got back from Iraq and bought this CD, I had listened to Tear from the Red, over and over again for 5 months. Anyways, the same energy and drive remains with this album as the last. Its still hard/emo-core and it truly won't disappoint. The yelling out of context and incessent drums will hypnotize and make you crank up your god-damn car stereo in your 84' Pinto. This one is definetly stuck in my heavy rotation of current favorite CD collection. It made me want to kill Iraqis again....or at least lop off their ears.

OH MY GOD...I think I just...YES, I JUST SHIT MY PANTS!!! I can't explain politely how fucking awesome this CD is. IT RULES! If you like PTW, you should love this CD. BUT if you didn't like Tear From the Red then 1)you may not like this and 2)kill yourself. Honestly, some songs (like Ghostchant) seem like a complete cross between material from OOD and TFTR. Raging fuckin hardcore backed up by really beautiful vocals and guitar work. You should buy this album just because Jeff and Derek (and probably the rest of PTW) are really nice guys...yeah. I give two thumbs and one penis up for this CD. BUY RIGHT NOW!!
