This is an album that I have to listen to everyday. It is just an amazing piece of music. 'Tis a shame that they don't tour nowadays.

If Circle Takes The Square is able to write a better album than this, I would honestly soil my shorts. This is an incredible debut full length. The vocals are delivered with such passion, its almost painful to listen to. ALMOST. They go in so many different directions in many of their songs, such as In The Nervous Light Of Sunday, that they always keep you on your toes. Every song is chaotic and hard without losing their beautifully written melodies. A must-buy if you're a fan of bands such as Saetia, Orchid, Kaospilot, Neil Perry, or other bands of this genre.

Blah! This is not that good. The first time I heard It I thought it was enjoyable, but every time I listened to it after that I began to dislike it more and more. It doesn't really feel like the songs go anywhere and they just kinda drag on too long before there is a change in the sound or progression to a peak. I don't know...if you are a big screamo/screamer person you will probably like it, but this is no Saetia or Blood Brothers

I am not really into screamo because most of it sounds the same. Circle Takes the Square is not like all the other screamo bands. Straight hardcore music with fucked up, yet intelligent, lyrics. BUY IT NOW.

Pretentious frantic hardcore with a female backup singer. Can't wait to see what else these guys produce in the future.

I came across CTTS a while ago and I thought it sounded tight and immediately enjoyed that fucked'up edge. I had burned myself an album and was occasionally listening to "Kill the Switch" on my way back home. It felt great to be alive... Two years have passed and I recently decided to take the "Roots" out of the dust and gave it a shot. WOW! after two years of musical evolution, I was still immersed by their lyrics. If I have had to mature for two long years to fully appreciate the band and its load of subtilities, it would have been a crime not to buy their latest release. New album new song versions, I was rediscovering the band again! I've been a bit surprised to notice that the guys had not pulled another CD out in the mean time but from what I've read, the band is still moving on. So far so good. Now what about the songs? Well CTTS is a rather complex sounding band and I can't really tell from what I hear. I believe it belongs to the artist to educate us on what they are trying to shed. If one would ask me how I feel about their songs, I'd be confused. Their lyrics are vast and free of strong sense (without being meaningless) so you can really adapt what you actually hear to what you need to hear, the music always carries that feeling you're after. It brings some sort of complicity between the artist and the listener, so you'll never have to take em as they come. The band is yours and you are fantastic. Okay but is it brutal? hard? metal?, honestly... that is up to you, whatever you listen to. Killin the switch off with a big 5.

Great, great, great album. Circle Takes the Square is one of the few modern day screamo bands, and they're easily one of the best.
Excellent stuff. If you enjoy screamo, you will not be disappointed.

Seeming that I'm running out of time to review this album I might as well. Circle Takes the Square are singlehandedly one of the most ingenuitive rock bands around today. CTTS takes mixtures of screamo (no, not the popular version of screamo) and hardcore and incredible guitar work to make a masterpiece of a concept album that plays fluidly from beginning to end. Buy this if you listen to music.

This is real screamo. No fake stuff! Great mix of male and female vocals, both are brutal and raw as hell. Sometimes it's also very melodic and kinda quiet, but then the inferno break loose and everything goes total crazy. Get this if you like Dillinger Escpae Plan, Converge or just heavy music.
