Let's get some information out on the table. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes have never written a song. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes have barely toured. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes started as a joke band. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes have become very successful.
On their fourth album Take A Break, the band spins back around to their R&B roots. R&B roots? You know the quintet to be members of punk rock bands (NOFX, Lagwagon, Swingin' Utters, ex-No Use For A Name/Foo Fighters), but once upon a time, before the lads ever laid a stylus on a Sex Pistols LP, they spent their afternoons on street corners perfecting their break dancing moves to the sounds generated by their portable boom boxes.
Me First And The Gimme Gimmes breathe new life into songs that were once "hits" but have fallen into obscurity. Songs like Seal's "Crazy", R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly", and the Jackson Five's "I'll Be There". 14 songs that are now new again, ready to regain "hit" status under the thumb of the great Me First And The Gimme Gimmes!
