Tooth & Nail 83888

Released on May 13, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

There are times when you hear a band and you're stopped in your tracks... there is the right elements of melody and a hook that is undeniable. Anberlin has both of those qualities. "Blueprints For The Black Market" is the band's debut and it showcases this young bands song writing ability as well proficient playing. Edgy enough to appeal to the hard rock crowd and melodic enough to appeal to the most sensitive indie rock/emo fan, Anberlin plays the field like a pro!

As an Atheist, i'm not a huge fan of christian bands...but this band does it for me. This CD is RAW, but oh so amazing. You can tell the quality of the recording systems, aren't the best, but there talent shines though [makes you wonder how they would sound with good recording devices...i'll get to that later]. Songs like 'Ready Fuels', 'Change the World', and 'Glass to the Arson' really do it for me, there just A-Freaking-mazing. This CD is a great buy, but to complete your collection make sure you by there sophmore release, "Never take friendship personal", that CD is priceless.

So, down to the point, this band is amazing, and this album shows us their potential, while delivering brillant songs. There best work is still yet to come...[another cd coming out 02/07]

This record has flashes of brilliance that they harness on their following effort, the thing I really dig about this record is the rawness. It is underproduced (in a good way) and the songs really shine through. A good start to a band that is so solid today!

i bought this album on the strength of "readyfuels", which is a great song! at first, the album didn't overally impress me, but it definately grew on me with time. all the songs are strong and there's none worth skipping over. the vocals are superb and well complimented by the music. i'd recommend buying this if you're into emo/rock like TBS or HIPV.

as for the review by sean (below) - ignore him, he's an idiot! i'm not into christian rock either, but there's no preaching or religiuous context in this album.

I like what these guys do with their music. I bought this cd only after hearing the song "Ready Fuels". The whole cd is good. One of those cds you can put in your stereo and listen to all the way through. Excellent choice.

This cd isnt bad for what it is. I dont like pop-punk at all, but for its genre, it isnt too bad. I bought this for a friend, but i gave it a listen. Its not horrendous, but i would never listen to it by choice

Very good debut album. Anberlin gives us catchy songs with a pop-sensibility and a nice edge. Just rock'n roll.

When I bought this, I basically bought because of the reviews.... and I'm glad I did. Awesome emo from another great Tooth & Nail band. I'm not exactly sure who to compare them too, but maybe along the lines of Further Seems Forever. My favorites songs are Ready Fuels, Foreign Language, Change the World, Cadence, and We dream in Heist. Awesome C.D. Get it.

Anberlin is one of the only emo bands I will listen to, along with FSF, and Taking Back Sunday. They don't have that whiny element that most other emo bands have. If you like emo, get it, if you like pop punk, get it, and if you like hardcore, you know what? Just get this.
