Limited colored vinyl LP pressing. Pennywise and Theologian Records are teaming up with South Bay indie label Hardline Entertainment to reissue the SoCal punk band's early recordings on this single LP titled Nineteen Eighty Eight. Includes the A Word From The Wise and Wildcard EPs as well as tracks from the Soul Arch compilation featuring covers of Black Flag's "Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie" and Ben E. King's "Stand By Me." Pennywise was formed in 1988 in Hermosa Beach, California, by singer Jim Lindberg, guitarist Fletcher Dragge, drummer Byron McMackin and bassist Jason Thirsk. Each of the band members had played in other bands in the Hermosa Beach area. The group eventually signed to Epitaph Records in 1990.
