For most people this was the first that they had ever heard of Blink. Blink's follow up album to "Cheshire Cat", was just short of incredilbe. Despite their surfacing into the mainstream, Blink came out on this record and blew our minds. "Cheshire Cat", showed us a promising young band on the rise, and "Dude Ranch", not only turned heads...it broke necks. Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus were stellar, they played their hearts out providing us with many tempo changes and start-stops (not bad for only 1 guitar player). Blink utilized their dual vocalists, and belted out 15 heart-filled anthems about girls, teenage life, and girls. Although they did get radio play, due to their big record label (MCA),"Dammit" did not justice for the band. "Enthused", "Lemmings","Pathetic", "Boring", "Josie", do I really need to go on? Blink used such variance on all tracks so that you didn't get that "I've heard this somewhere before". "Dude Ranch" is MUSIC at it's finest. What more could you ask for. So now that we have all this "Blink" crap crammed down our throats, maybe we all need to pack our bags and go back to visit "Dude Ranch". - Punknews.org
