Rocket Summer

Calendar Days

Militia Group 10

Released on February 25, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Just added to the Militia roster, The Rocket Summer is the solo work of 19 year old Texas native, multi-instrumentalist, Bryce Avary. Developing a huge local following all over the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, Bryce has played shows and festivals such as SXSW (with a full band and by himself), and garnered large amounts of radio play on local rock station, The Edge, as well as college radio all over Texas. When Bryce was 17, he recorded and self released his first EP, self-titled "The Rocket Summer". This past summer, he entered the studio with Ed Rose for six and a half weeks to record his debut full-length album, "Calendar Days". "Calendar Days" showcases Bryce's talent being that it was produced by Bryce himself, and that all of the instruments on the record were played by Bryce as well.

this is by far the poppiest cd i own but there's just something about it when you listen to it in the car with a bunch of your friends that know it that makes it a party evey time. can't listen to it without smiling. plus he's really good live too if you try to ignore his freakin gay clothes. my advice is buy this cd no matter what kind of music your into (cuz i'm into screamo and i love this) and expecially if your a pissy person because this cd will kick the pissiness out of anyone.

Not at all a bad cd, I saw the rocket summer live a while back and I thought they had really great songs and lots of energy in what they played but when listenin to this cd the songs seem alot more dull and not as fun as they did live, However Bryce is very talented and respect to him for for doin a record all by himself, he's a very skilled songwriter and musician. If u really like emo with keyboards and lots of melody this is one 4 u.

This was a pretty good CD, it stayed in my CD player for a week or two. And it goes in every once in a while. Most of the songs are really good, but some can get annoying. But overall its a really good CD and I suggest it for any fan of good music.

well i dont really like it that much. It is ok but the guys voice kind of sounds like he is a little stressful when singing. I admit to him being talented as a multi instrumentist but his voice is sorta not good. I dont like his lyrics either. He tries to much to rhyme and he is just not that interesting. the first song is ok but the others arent that great. -james (not linda)

A really cool cd, amazing melodies, uplifting songs. Not for the cynical. Although the cd does have it's weaker songs (#9 for example). It's still a really good cd, but probably the first half of the cd is better than the second...

Anyway, 4 because it's a really amzazing cd despite being SLIGHTLY (and only just slightly) repetitive and a dissapointing track #9. Apart from that it's rocking

This guys talented - but the CD is boring as hell. The first couple songs are quite uplifting, nice and happy but it gets very repetitive by like the 5th track. Nothing that hasnt been done before. Buy Saves The Day,Stay What You Are instead of this - its much more interesting.

this is one of the best cds ever. this kid has more talent than anyone, his future in music is definitely positive. the lyrics on this cd are amazing. the songs grab you right away, from the guitar hooks to the changing drum beats. for a one man band this cd is outstanding. ane emo fan, or anyone who likes good music, this cd is a must have.

This is one of the best cd's i have. The Rocket Summer is amazing. This is really good stuff. It's a little poppy but not crappy. It's a good break from the "i want to kill myself" stuff i usually listen to. You should get it.

I could'nt wait to get this cd, and when i did i was so glad i bought it, it's an amazing cd. Catchy songs that you can't stop singing. Dispite the fact Bryce Avary is one of the cutest men i've ever seen he's amazingly talented. This cd is a muct for anyone.

Then maybe I'd be set for the rest of my life like this 19 year old kid, Bryce. I'm so jealous!

He does everything on this CD. He wrote, played all the instruments and produced it. Who does this kid think he is? And he writes some darn catchy songs.

The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is cos it's not fair that he can play so many instruments and I can only play Star Wars on the piano with one finger, and make fart sounds with my hands. arsehole!
