Twelve Years

Rise 600299.2

Released on May 8, 2012

Daytrader has been building an intense anticipation for their full-length album for more than a year now. Since releasing their EP "Last Days Of Rome" in early 2011, they have built quite the buzz through the infectious tracks on the EP as well as their fantastic live show. The small amount of tracks on the EP left fans hungry for more, and while it has taken a good amount of time to deliver that follow up, it wasn't without good reason. The band, featuring ex-members of Crime in Stereo, Latterman, and Divider comprises the best the Long Island scene has to offer, so naturally they entered the studio with Long Island's patron saint of producers - Mike Sapone (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, The Early November)

Daytrader writes hard-hitting, heartfelt songs in the vein of Jimmy Eat World, Sunny Day Real Estate, Further Seems Forever, Saves the Day and Hot Water Music. Drawing from the best aspects of turn of the century pop, punk and emo, Daytrader crafts each song into an exciting, unique experience. Their brand of sharp song-writing combined with Sapone's fantastic production will leave you humming along, long after you've finished listening. They're sharing these songs with the world, this spring, as they hit the road and play shows with Man Overboard, The Jealous Sound, Hot Water Music, Iron Chic, and many more.

If i had to label Daytrader anything, it'd be "Emo-Rock." Not usually much of what i listen to but this release is great. Reminds me a lot of The Juliana Theory, a hint of Crime In Stereo & other bands like that. Catchy heart-felt songs. After these guys, Bouncing Souls, Hot Water Music, Make Do & looks like Rise Records is turning out to not be so shitty after all. Check this out, it'll make your day better.
