Revealing, hilarious, and touching THE OTHER F WORD asks what happens when a generation's ultimate anti-authoritarians – punk rockers –become society's ultimate authorities – fathers. With a large chorus of punk’s leading men - Mark Hoppus (Blink-182), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Tim McIlrath (Rise Against) - THE OTHER F WORD follows Jim Lindberg, a 20-year veteran of the skate punk band Pennywise, through his hysterical and moving journey from belting his band's anthem ”F--k Authority” to embracing his newfound role in mid-life: fatherhood. Other dads featured in the film include Art Alexakis (Everclear), Mark Mothersbaugh (Devo), Ron Reyes (Black Flag), Tony Adolescent (The Adolescents), Fat Mike (NOFX), Lars Frederiksen (Rancid), skater Tony Hawk, and many others.

This is terrible. I think Jim Lindberg used this documentary to exploit himself leaving Pennywise for "the greater good of being a dad"....but then again....why did he start another band???

The first 30 minutes of this film includes a very distorted history lesson of California punk rock origins. I don't know what the director was thinking. I will not go into that much but will say, Jim gives the macho bands credit and not the true pioneers (Germs, Weirdos, Screamers, Bags). The art weirdos deserve the credit not the macho bands!

Some good moments of this film are of Ron Reyes (Black Flag), Duane Peters, Fat Mike and Tony (Adolescents). I thought there contributions were interesting.

If you are a fan of Pennywise, you might like the drama and crap talking between Jim and the band. If you wanted to see a documentary about being a father/touring musician....I think you will be dissapointed.

I was really surprised about this DVD, I mainly bought since I'm a huge Rancid fan, seeing Lars on the cover was a no brainier. The DVDs main focus in on Jim Lindberg from Pennywise, and gives fans insight as to why he left the band. So I would say it's a pretty interesting documentary for fans of any of the band's listed above.

I enjoyed this documentary a lot. It gives a lot of cool insight into the lives of punk bands that you rarely see or hear about. It was touching but really funny as well. Anyone who grew up loving punk rock should check this out.

I really loved this documentary. Respect to all the punk rock dads who share their stories of their own tough childhoods, personal tragedies and the joys of being a parent.

Jim Lindberg of Pennywise, Art Alexakis of Everclear and all the other dads really open up about their lives. It's inspiring to see so many tough guys who feel, care and work to overcome their own demons to be the best parents they can be.

If you're old like me, and I know I am, you may start thinking that getting married and having kids with someone you love isn't really "selling out". Well, these old punk, new punk, pop whatever etc. fathers will let you see what it's like. This is a fantastic documentary. Very touching, very badass soundtrack. I recommend it to everyone, but mostly to aging punkers or punk fathers.
