Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster

Ferret Music 60142

Released on September 27, 2011

“We put our hearts into this record,” says Dallas Taylor, “It’s a much darker record that deals with a ton of trials I went through during and following III.” “We hope this captures us as band with a lot of substance. You can see the insides and outs of our daily lives through these songs.” IV represents substantial growth in the band’s song writing and sound. It captures the band at the peak of their career.

Maylene is a band that i've always felt got better with each album. So i was ecstatic about IV because of how much i loved III. This, however, is pure garbage. Either one of two things happened. One - They decided they wanted to go mainstream and sell more records so they gave sounding like new Skynyrd mixed with Nickeback a try, or Two - They decided to see just how shitty of an album they were capable of making. Nothing here is exiting. Not one song goes balls out to make you wanna bang your head. No passion, nothing. Just pure shit. Avoid this at all costs. Especially if you're a previous Maylene fan.
