Epitaph 871462

Released on July 26, 2011

Blending the speed and precision of metal-inflected punk rock like Strung Out and Propagandhi with the melodic sensibilities of Hot Water Music and Bad Religion, Heartsounds’ music is a reinvention of 90’s punk rock and 80’s thrash metal with a style all their own. Epitaph owner and president Brett Gurewitz took immediate notice of the San Francisco bay area band in late 2009, and contributed his signature vocals to the new album Drifter. Founding members Laura Nichol (guitars/vocals) and Ben Murray (guitars/vocals) write songs that surge with drama and urgency, with Ben and Laura’s male/female vocals intertwining over the thrashing guitars to give a new twist to the sound. With production values that finally match the majesty of their sound, Drifter will be the release that brings Heartsounds to the world.

One of the best new bands of 2010 returned in 2011 with another amazing album! Everything Chris from Salt Lake City said I agree with. There's no other way to describe this other than: Genre: TheExactKindOfMusicMyEarsStriveFor!!!

Wow was I ever late to checking out this band. I've not heard melodic punk played this well since the golden-era of Fat/Epitaph. And it's honestly played better than most of those bands. I've never heard a band remind me so much of Strung Out but not making me think "I'd rather just jam Strung Out." So much depth and greatness, i hope they get huge.
