Peace Thru Vandalism

Kung Fu 832.1

Released on November 16, 2018

As poster boys of the original Huntington Beach punk rock scene in the very early 80s, The Vandals debut release provided the soundtrack for an era of mayhem and mindless rebellion for tens of thousands of bored teenagers from the suburbs to the hood. If you were punk rock in the 80s, this was your music.

It started with Urban Struggle going from Rodney Bingenheimer’s Top 10, to #1 on KROQ’s mainstream play list in L.A. When the Vandals performed “The Legend Of Pat Brown” in the Roger Corman / Penelope Spheeris 1983 classic film “Suburbia” the EP became a must have for punks all over the world.

Peace Thru Vandalism is also a "must re-have" part of any collection that claims to have any punk rock in it and with the same line-up for over 20 years, the Vandals continue to keep this era alive

Classic punk album. If you like early american punk like Black Flag, Adolescents, T.S.O.L, and Dead Kennedys then you should already own this record. Don't confuse this with their later work (which I also enjoy) because it's not the funny pop punk stuff they've released over the last twenty years, this is a much more raw teen angst driven debut album. ANARCHY BURGER!

Well, this isn't an exact reissue. The Elvis cover was left off, a decision that I don't agree with that was made by Joe.. Here is what I found that he had to say about it.. (In response to an email that some dude that isn't me sent him in regards to the missing track.)

"It's been out for about a year now and you are the first person to notice or care. Thanks for noticing. I thought more people would mention it. Google the lyrics. It's about the violent rape of a woman. It's not something Jan and I wanted to disseminate any further. It had it's day when people were less sensitive to stuff like that. Anyone can download it from the internet if they want to but we don't want to sell it to people. We can't stand behind it. It was a tough decision to alter what many people thought was a classic, but after a year, and only one inquiry, we are satisfied we did the right thing. Thanks again,"

Joe E.

So this being said.. I still got it, you can make your own choice.. I'm still on the lookout for one of the Epitaph pressings.. It sorta sounds like Joe grew up a bit... Bummer.
