Miss May I

Apologies Are for the Weak

Rise 81.2

Released on June 23, 2009

With an average age of 18, MISS MAY I is poised to be the new face of heavy music. Blending death metal, thrash and melodic hardcore, MMI stands above the crowd of copy cat bands. You may ask what separates them from the rest of the pack? It’s simple, amazing musicianship, great song writing, amazing cd production and a killer live show.

I was surprised by these guys. Id always figured them to be some "emo" metal/screamo along the lines of Eyes Set To Kill and Vanna. I saw a video on Headbangers Ball and then checked them out online. I was quite wrong. These guys rock more like Darkest Hour and Caliban. The singer sounds like it is a Darkest Hour side project in alot of parts even. Really solid metal CD thatll probabaly get neglected just for the band name sounding so "emo". Rise didnt seem to push it very much either. Its a real shame cause its hard to find a solid CD like this that doesnt disappoint nowadays
