Relapse 6622

Released on August 31, 2004

Inarguably one of the most exciting new bands to form in the last ten years, MASTODON is an explosive, unbridled force. With an ageless magnificence and rich musical imagination, MASTODON unleash Leviathan, an unabated testimonial to the band's earthshaking ability to rock. MASTODON's thundering musical muscle, talent and vast sea of ideas triumphantly unite on Leviathan, delivering heavy, organic music that melds exhilarating ambitiousness with a well-honed accessibility. Leviathan's staggering proportion, unstoppable momentum and anthemic roar wholly underline MASTODON's vibrant spirit and majestic, heartfelt delivery. MASTODON isn't just a band you hear, it's something you feel deep down.

I got this cd after seeing the video for the first track(Blood and Thunder).I didn't think all the tracks could be as good as that song but I was wrong, this cd is consistently brilliant from start to finish. It's not punk but it's still going to appeal to to alot of punk fans. MASSIVE SOUND,MASSIVE TALENT

Where to start- if i were you, i'd buy this CD just to hear Blood and Thunder, and Iron Tusk. This band has some of the best hardcore guitar and drums i've ever heard. When you pop this thing in and the guitar part that starts off Blood and Thunder starts, it'll send chills down your spine. The only thing that bugged me was the vocals were buried behind the instruments a lot of the time. The artwork on this CD is also some of the coolest i've seen. Not a track on this CD to disappoint, check it out.
