Rise Against

Appeal To Reason (Limited Edition Vinyl)

Interscope B001190401

Released on October 14, 2008

Vinyl includes MP3 download card

You can’t force artistry. True musical creations are typically launched via pure inspiration or serendipitous moments and ideas that are often baked to perfection through sheer work and dedication. Appeal To Reason was created when Rise Against simply engaged in their album making activity without over thinking and precisely planning every step. Their approach to this album like every other Rise Against album.... no approach at all.

Standard Colored Vinyl Album (w/ Full Album Digital Download Card Of mp3s Of All Tracks)

This is great album. Hands down probably Rise Against's best offering yet. And it comes on clear vinyl, which was a very nice surprise.

great album... if you like other rise against albums, you should like this one. buying the vinyl is especially cool because it's like a clear bluish color, comes in a nice gatefold package (i.e., more artwork), and it comes with the download card, too... in other words, buy the vinyl if available, otherwise, buy the cd. you won't regret it

I got this album expecting just another Rise Against album. Not disappointing but never capturing the spirit of their first albums. Upon first listen I kinda glazed over each song. Sounded good but what does that mean. It wasn't until I read the lyrics that each and every song hit hard. One thing in my mind that has always set Rise Against apart were Tim's lyrics and voice. In this album he definitely does not disappoint. The lyrics to every song on this album are placed so beautifully and pronounced so profoundly I almost well up at certain points. None of the lyrics are too overly political but you can definitely bend them that way given the fact of the band's obvious stance on issues. What makes the songs rise above is you could listen to this album decades from now and they would still be just as effective.

Every song has an unforgettable chorus but strays away from that being the whole reason you listen to the song like many other melodic bands.

I feel not only this album but this entire band was created to make a change. It always aggravated me when elitist punk rockers stopped listening Rise Against after they started getting more melodic and produced but to me the best way to be punk rock and actually make a difference is to reach new audiences and inspire as many people as you can. Instead of writing stuff that only preaches to the choir.

I feel this album shows that Rise Against sticks with what they know best... writing the most heartfelt, powerful, melodic punk rock there is.
