Deadly Sins emerge as a fresh voice in the long-standing Boston punk rock scene. Stephanie Dougherty and Billy Brown formed the band in 2006. Stephanie is best known for lending vocals to the Dropkick Murphys on the song "The Dirty Glass" and Billy singing and playing guitar in Crash And Burn. Soon after, the lineup was complete with the addition of Brendan Maguire (Reach The Sky), Nathan Bice (Even In Blackouts), and Joe Packard. They released a self-titled EP in February of 2006.

Good decent punk, with a street punk edge. The vocals are great but the recording of the vocals could be better (read: louder). Riot & Ashes are 5 star stuff!

This is one of the best, if not the best, record[s] of 2008. Stephanie's voice sounds incredible over the hard-hitting guitars, drums, and bass. Sure, four of the songs on this debut full length were on the EP the band released over a year ago, but they sound more polished on the record. My personal favorite song on the album is "Freshly Minted Royalty", with "Grey Skies Turn" being a close second. All 12 songs on this record are great, though, delivered in 37 minutes. Check these guys out! In addition, they're a great live show, and I can't wait for their CD release show on Sunday at Harper's Ferry in Allston, MA..should be a great time!
