Remember Suicude Notes And Butterfly Kisses by Atreyu? It wasnt too bad of a CD now was it? Other than a few decent songs everything since by them has been pretty splotchy (and the new CD is just trash from what Ive heard of it). Now imagine a really fucking good Atreyu CD and you have I Killed The Prom Queen. It sounds like really heavy Atreyu in the vein of Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses or Fractures In The Facade Of Your Porcelain Beauty. The singers gutteral voice even sounds like the guy from Atreyu used to. I was hesitant about these guys due to the really lame band name but once I heard a few tracks I was rather impressed. This isnt anything really original or mindblowing but it is listenable. The new one on Metal Blade is alot more polished and a better listen but this one isnt horrible

I Killed The Prom Queen one of the best australlian hardcore bands in my opinion. This album although dissapointed me because i had heard upcoming songs from their "music for the recently deceased" album on which every song is amazing the vocalist on this album kind of gets annoying after a while the singing is good but the screaming sounds like a dog barking so if you're looking to get into iktpq definately get the new one its a 1000x improvement. -Chris

Heavy and melodic ... the way metalcore need to be! At some points it reminds me of PTW, because of the spoken words parts. Very very good CD that's so much worth listening if you like melodic and emotional metalcore. Highly recommended!!!
