Career Suicide/Jed Whitey

Split

Deranged Youth 55

Released on August 3, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Finally out. Career Suicide, Toronto's snotty fucks, are back with some of their best material to date. Eight new tracks of good old fashion garage infused hardcore punk ala Germs, Angry Samoans and the F.U.'s. A little more mature and produced then previous releases but same old classic sound. On the b-side, Australia's own Jed Whitey deliver 5 new rnr punk tracks including one of their best tracks to date ? "Kill Radio".

The Career Suicide tracks on this album are some of their best to date. They're at their best when they slow things up a bit and go for a more straight-ahead punk approach (On The Run, There's Something Wrong With You, The One That Got Away) but the more blazing hardcore cuts are stellar as well. For the uninitiated, the songs are short bursts with really bright guitars and snotty vocals. Really great stuff. One of the best bands around. The Jed Whitey side will probably never see another go around on my turntable. Kill Radio is an okay song. And the Discharge cover is interesting. They have a weird cock-rock edge to them. Not my kinda stuff. Buy this immediately for the Career Suicide tracks. They won't disappoint.
