Escape From L.A.

Hellcat 804952

Released on September 11, 2007

The new album from LA's punk rockers takes as its inspiration the insane asylum that is America's second largest city. They've spent the last two years almost constantly on the road, touring with Rancid, The Adicts, UK Subs, Misfits, Nekromantix, and Agent Orange. Another collection of catchy songs that put the fun back into punk, while showing an immense growth in songwriting chops, inspiring kids with their no frills attack.

This is a good record. If you liked the first Orange record, you will dig this one. Real poppy, catchy, mostly all mid-tempo type shit. Its good. Two of the members who were on this record have since left Orange, both guitarits, Jack Berglund and Jon Dering. Song topics range from girls, being on tour, and just not giving a fuck. Clocks in at 35:52, and comes with a little mini-poster with lyrics on the other side, just like the first record. Charlie Overbey lends some guest vocals on the track "What I'm Looking For" which is badass. Karma Chameleon is a Culture Club cover of course. Since I pre-ordered it and interpunk does badass shit for that, I got a signed copy of the CD in addition to a regular copy. Rules! Also, this has a bonus track at the very end like the first record thats a big joke and pretty funny. Pick dis shit up yo!

I was very impressed with this album! If you enjoyed their first album you will like this one twice as much. Lately I've been giving song by song scores of 1-10 when I listen to a new album and this album got four legitimate 10's!!!! Those four amazing songs are "The Last Punk in LA", "Republicans", "Stars", and the bonus track which is hilarious! Give this album a try if you like catchy punk!
