Dischord 1981: Year In 7in.

Dischord 14V

Vinyl includes MP3 download card

The Four Old Seven Inches LP, first released in 1984, compiled four early Dischord EPs (by then already out of print) from Teen Idles, SOA, Government Issue and Youth Brigade (DC). These EPs represented the opening salvo from a punk community that organized in Washington DC in the early 80s and continues to produce challenging and meaningful ideas more than 25 years later. The later CD edition added the first two Minor Threat EPs to the mix and by the early 90s the vinyl edition of this compilation had fallen out of print. This new Four Old Seven Inches edition is pressed on clear vinyl and features updated artwork.

Excellent and classic early hardcore punk, can't go wrong with this. One of the better releases on Dischord. Get it.

This LP rocks, would recommend this to anyone, even if your not a punk fan. minor threat is not on this LP. But if you love collecting records, like me,then go for it. The best band on here has to be Government issue. Rock-n-roll bullshit & asshole are really cool funny tunes. And Henry rollins and his 1st band (soa) are on this lp. Honestly i can't say any songs suck on this lp,cuz,it's real punk history. a SOA reunion would be cool,But doubtful,Oh,well i guess, this lps probably the closest you'll ever get. 5*stars all the way, this album is kick-ass from start to finish. Had this cd for along time, still not tired of it,it's why i bought the record,I'd say if you were a real punk, and don't have this, what are you waiting for,buy it now. It's that good.

These four 7"s are next to impossible to find, unless you're willing to fork over quite a bit of cash. All four are very raw and very punk rock. It isn't going to be a record you listen to every day, but it is well worth having so you can listen to it and imagine what the early DC scene would have been like. Recommended!
