There comes a time in every artist’s life when the present
becomes the past and the future begins to take shape. For
THE FALL OF TROY, that moment is eternal. For the last
four years, the ever-progressive band from the suburbs of
Seattle have been leading the campaign to push beyond
all boundaries and extend their musical prowess into
another realm. When the band members were 17 years
old, they released (and sold) a thousand copies of The Fall
Of Troy, a 10-song album that rapidly made the rounds on
the internet, garnering an immeasurable number of
awestruck fans. By age 19, the now seasoned musicians
released a more accurate portrayal of their skill in the
form of Doppelgänger, a pristine recording that overflows
with vocal and instrumental hooks and went on to sell over
45,000 copies.
Now with all three members at the tender age of 21, THE
FALL OF TROY’s new album, Manipulator, is their future.
Having built upon the band’s reputation for lightning fast
guitar riffs, raw screams, catchy choruses, and a volatile
rhythm section, Manipulator finds THE FALL OF TROY
combining metal with progressive, rock with blues, and
past with present to once again push themselves beyond.
The heavy parts are heavier, the poppy parts are poppier,
and the overall dynamics make the album impossible to
classify. Join THE FALL OF TROY on their journey.
Manipulator is here.

What a progression! My god. I was a bit wary of this album, they seemed to have it from an idea to on the shelves in such a tiny amount of time. But, THEY'VE DONE IT AGAIN! I love this band. Everything they do just blows me away. It really shows how much talent these guys really have.
To the people expecting another Doppelganger, you have no respect. Accept that Fall of Troy is an EXPERIMENTAL band. Of course the sound is going to change. And in this case, it's changed in a very, very good way.
Best tracks, in my opinion, Semi-Fiction and Sledgehammer.

I see where FOT are going with this album. With each cd they evolve and never re-make the same cd, which is a good thing for bands like FOT because if they kept making Doppleganger (which everyone wants them to) i'd only buy and listen to Doppleganger. The problem with Manipulator is the "poppier" or more simplistic melodic parts of the songs aren't very enjoyable which makes the songs hard to fuse when it goes into more traditional FOT with their heavy parts, which are the best FOT have yet. They do do it very well however on some songs and some of the melodic parts namely track 3 are pretty catchy and good. I can only imagine this album had to have been hard to write because of all the tention with the band before hand. But if you are a Fall Of Troy fan and have an open-mind to a new sound then their is no reason you wont like Manipulator.
