Acacia Strain

Prosthetic 16

Released on July 20, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Another contender in the quickly rising New England heavy music scene, The Acacia Strain return with their second full-length. Sludgier, slower and more restrained than your typical metalcore band, but still keeping with the breakdowns and deep, gurgled vocals you all know and love about metalcore. You can hear influences from bands like Meshuggah and Crowbar in here with the straight-forward industrial powered guitar crunch. Enhanced cd includes bonus video footage..

Sludgy breakdowns abound! so if breakdowns aren't your thing, then steer clear of this heavy piece of chunk. Not as good as the previous effort cuz a lot of tech has been sacrficed for all-to-popular breakdowns but if I ha to have one MOSH YOUR BALLS OFF CD then i'd definitely choose this one for it's really enjoyable and the lyrics are quite odd and interesting. Be sure to see them live too, very energetic and fun. For fans of Premonitions Of War. -Ben

The Acacia Strain is so fucking awesome. They were definitely a great act to accompany Terror and Remembering Never recently. How coincidental that I received this cd before the Star Wars: Episode III trailer came out; it made the cd perfect to listen to before I went to see the movie.

this is probably the heaviest hardcore band at the moment, the title track is absolutely devastating. great album.
