Filthy Thieving Bastards are back with the sequel to 2005’s brilliant album, “My Pappy Was A Pistol”.
Featuring members of the Swingin’ Utters and Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, the Bastards’
new record runs the gamut stylistically between old-school punk rock, traditional country, folk & irish
music, and 60’s psychedelic pop.
Their sound is almost un-categorizable; but their blend of traditional country/folk and pop music, infused
with the punk rock sensibility they’ve honed for 15+ years in the Swingin’ Utters, seems to appeal to
people of all ages. There is something in FTB’s music for everyone, from punk rockers to country
and folksters.

This album is on par with My Pappy Was a Pistol and better than the previous FTB releases. If you like the Swingin' Utters, you will probably like this, but it isn't punk, so you might want to hear a few FTB songs before buying it to make sure you'll enjoy this band.

I really enjoyed this cd. I always liked the swingin utters and this just raised the bar. I think this may be a very promising start for a great band.

The Bastards come back with another fine album. The classic folk-rock-country influence remains prevalent on the album but does not feature the fine 60's-ish pop music on "My Pappy Was A Pistol." I was hoping for more songs like that but I'm completely satisfied with what the Bastards have to offer this time. The percussion and layering of the songs is just fantastic. The song writing again is top notch. I can't say enough about this album.

It's a really good record like you knew it would be. It doesn't grab my attention like "My Pappy Was A Pistol" did, but it's still a great arrangement of music. My favorite tune has to be "When We Were Kids". By now, everyone knows the story, this band consists of three members of Swingin' Utters (Johnny, Darius and Spike). If you are a fan of The Pogues, Swingin Utters, (you get it) get this and get there other albums as well!!! Hopefully they will release this album on vinyl too soon!
