New Erections

Anti 86748-2

Released on March 20, 2007

The Locust has been throwing up in the face of conventional music since 1995, when the band formed from the pieces of San Diego hardcore stalwarts, Swing Kids and Struggle. Since then, it has hosted a veritable “Who's Who” of punk royalty. Everyone from Tristeza/Album Leaf/GoGoGo Airheart/Crimson Curse's Jimmy LaValle, to Tarantula Hawk's Dave Warshaw and Dylan Scharf, and Cattle Decapitation's David Astor have gone in and out of the band's turnstile. The songs are fast -- usually under a minute -- atrociously ultra-violent and drenched in sci-fi-noise, gruesome keyboards and herky jerky, bestial scream/sing vocals -- described by one journalist as "a car-wreck with vocals." New Erections is The Locust’s follow -up to their acclaimed 2003 ANTI-/Epitaph debut Plague Soundscapes.

OH MY GOD! The only thing I was dissapointed with is that I didn't win the mask! This is such a SICK album! Anyone who dismisses the locust as just noise will be eating their words after this one. Its soo tight and the time signatures are off the charts! A Must for any Locust Fan or anybody who just loves spastic, Ultra-Violent great music! This is a long awaited reminder of why they are one of my favorite bands.

I'd heard the locust before and was just kinda, meh? about them. I decided to buy this cd and it's actually pretty good. I couldn't compare it to past albums but i'm guessing it's their best. I hate Justin Pearson with a rage of fire. He thinks he's done all of these great things so now he's smarter and egotistical. so fuck him, there's your 3 :)
