You may have heard of this TIM BARRY guy. Since 1991 Barry has
fronted Virginia’s AVAIL, serving as the American band’s singer,
lyricist, and co-songwriter. Now,TIM BARRY´s musical career is
entering a new phase.TIM BARRY’s first solo album, Rivanna
Junction, a collection of ten acoustic guitar-driven songs recorded
DIY-style in a home studio a couple of blocks from his house. Once
again,TIM BARRY is forging his own path, trading AVAIL’s distorted
guitars and concussive drumming for a low-fi blend of folk, old
school country, and roots rock.

Easily one of the best albums of 2007. I never have been much of an Avail fan, therefore I didn't think I would like any solo material from Tim. I got a sampler in the mail and I was shocked by how good the songs were. Tim grunts in a melodic way while telling his stories, like a modern day Johnny Cash. Good stuff! Support Tim Barry.

Another great Tim Barry CD. The man is a legend - check out his other solo cd and hos Avail stuff (if you haven't already). Music to drink and live life to.

this is a very good disc. almost every song is good. very original and realistic. song writing is strong.I would recommend this to someone who appretiates a taste of something raw and truely punk although not in the classic style.

Tim Barry rules. What is there left to say? Get yourself a twelve pack of PBR, put this cd on, get drunk and enjoy. The best thing I've heard in a while.

This cd was one of the best releases of 2006 in my opinion. Avail has always been great but they have seemed less inspired in the past few years. I was initially afraid that this cd would suffer from the same issues but no so at all. Definitely recommended for anyone that likes bands like Lucero and even Against Me. And anyone that likes some of the lighter side of Springsteen. This album is on par with "Nebraska" and "Devils & Dust". Big thumbs up.
