#5 (Includes CD) Zine

(Casualties,Rezillos,Joan Jett,Street Dogs,Adicts,Briggs,Cock Sparrer)

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Issue #5 of the new punk-rock bible is packed with (un?) holy goodness! The CASUALTIES dawn the cover, talking about their history, the new album, and their favorite alcoholic beverages; RANCID’s Lars Frederiksen sits down with his good friend, and lead singer of COCKSPARRER, Colin Mcfaull, in the only interview I can remember him doing in the last decade or two; an in-depth look at the life of Greg Shaw, the man behind Bomp! Records and Magazine; a look at and breakdown the best 18 records released in 1981, including THE ADOLESCENTS, AGENT ORANGE, BLACK FLAG, DOA, X, THE ADICTS, MINOR THREAT, DEAD KENNEDYS, and much more; pretty much an old school SK8 reunion, since there are big pieces on AGRESSION, CHANNEL 3, and TSOL; another reunion of sorts, this time of the NYHC style, seeing as how there are also big pieces on THE CRUMBSUCKERS, ROGER MIRET, and JOHN JOSEPH of THE CRO-MAGS; Beki Bondage talks about VICE SQUAD; Monkey and Pete Dee of THE ADICTS have a sit down for a little history lesson on their band, and punk in general; Steve E. Nix of the Briefs conducts an interview with Pete of Seattle’s legendary record store Singles Going Steady; and a great in-depth sit down with all of the UK-SUBS. There are also articles, interviews and spreads with THE REZILLIOS, RANCID, THE STREET DOGS, THE BRIGGS, JOAN JETT, THE ANTI-NOWHERE LEAGUE, LEFT ALONE, THE TOSSERS, CLIT 45, DARKBUSTER, The OI! Fest, Pirates Press, THE GENERATORS, THE WRECKING CREW, THE LUCKY STIFFS, The Wasted Fest, THE MERCY KILLERS, THE LOWER CLASS BRATS, COREY PARKS, HANK III, DAMAGE CASE, MAD SIN, and many more bands. There are also all of your favorite punk-rock icon columnists, tons of bootleg and re-issue reviews, hundreds of new albums reviewed, and tons of old flyers from shows past that you wished you were at. And, just to top it all off, every issue comes with a 29 track CD, with new and unreleased tracks from ROGER MIRET & THE DISASTERS, AGRESSION, DIE HUNNS, VICE SQUAD, STREET DOGS, THE LOWER CLASS BRATS, THE ADOLESCENTS, GUTTERMOUTH, THE POINTED STICKS, and much, much more! Read it slow though; this is the last issue until March ’07! Enj-oi!

This zine is excellent! Made by the people over at AMP, but unlike AMP, this magazine actually focuses on Punk Rock. TONS of great interviews & music reviews (including reviews of some of the best punk rock albums to come out back in '81). Every issue comes with a free comp CD, this one features 29 tracks including rad songs by Vice Squad, Lower Class Brats, Roger Miret & The Disasters, & Die Hunns (the zine includes interviews with members of all these bands as well). Tons of great photos & pictures of classic old show flyers. My favorite interviews include a funny one with The Adicts, the German punk band SS Kaliert (the interview helped me to discover this awesome Deutsch Street Punk band) & the interview with Joan Jett. This zine is great for people looking for something to read that focuses mainly on Street Punk, Oi & Punk Rock.
