Darkest Hour

A-F 047

Released on October 3, 2006

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Long before Darkest Hour became a virtual household name at the forefront of the current metal and punk scenes, they were working extremely hard at establishing themselves beyond their hometown of Washington, DC. A decade ago Darkest Hour were still “finding their sound” via demos and EPs that, over time, became scarcer and virtually impossible to find. As the band’s popularity increased, so did interest in these recordings, which much to the band’s dismay would periodically surface on online auction sites fetching ridiculous prices or were only available in sonically inferior versions via underground collector circles.

Celebrating their 10th anniversary as Darkest Hour, “Archives” is a collection of material that is either out-of-print, extremely rare or previously unreleased. Included are their first two EPs, “The Prophecy Fulfilled” and “The Misanthrope”, both completely remastered from the source tapes, in addition to previously unreleased songs and alternate versions never before heard by Darkest Hour fans. The CD booklet features essays written by several key people who were instrumental in helping Darkest Hour early on in their career.

Alot different from all of the other DH albums, but excellent music and a different taste of all the old members. Darkest Hour is one of the best.
