Alexisonfire

Crisis

Vagrant 438

Released on August 22, 2006

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Alexisonfire have come a long way the last few years. Now a PLATINUM act in Canada, the band has also established itself as a force in the US. They've done it along the same lines as a lot of the other successful Vagrant acts, through touring, word of mouth, and writing better songs with each release. This is indeed the album to take Alexisonfire from BIG to SUPERSTARS around the world. Crisis is heavy, catchy and shows remarkable growth. Album produced by Doug Boehm (Guided By Voices, Saves the Day, The Vines). HOMETOWN: Ontario, Canada

This CD is pretty good, it is not quite as good as the last one but is still excellent. It is much heavier than the previous CD more like their first CD. If you are buying this CD for Dallas Green you won't get what you are looking for but if you Alexisonfire for all their music then you will be satisfied.

This CD is amazing. It hooks you from the beginning and continues to do its job. Truly an amazing band.

This is a much more mature effort from the boys in Alexis. Every member of the band has improved themselves. Dallas's singing is simply amazing, George's screaming has come a long way from thier first release, and Wades vocals have probably undergone the most radical change of anyone's. These guys are like gods up here in Canada.

The first five songs are epic.. they are better that anything I expected, or could have hoped for. Through the whole album, there are only 2 songs I skip... You burn first, and Keep it on wax. The last song is like nothing I've ever heard before.. its a little slower, and George even screams slowly too... I cant get enough of this CD. It is kinda half way between their first and second albums... with a good mix of raw agression, and passionate singing and screaming.

Not to mention that Alexisonfire puts on one hell of a live show.. if you ever get the chance to see them.. I highly recomend it. I hope these guys never stop making music. They are amazing.

strange ... and I don't mean bad. Its different than what I would expect from Alexisonfire a lot of the reviews in Canada wish there was more Dallas Green then George Petit but they don't really understand Alexisonfire, they only understand City and Colour. This CD starts off strong with a lot of anthemic tracks, George screaming things that can be repeated en mass and Dallas putting a lot of shine on it. Not really as solid as the last two Alexis CDs but they still put out a good disc. Midway though something strange happens... some raspy singer comes and sings a really lame song that doesn't sound like an Alexisonfire tune. "You Burn First" just doesn't belong on this CD, its not really an Alexisonfire song there is no identifying Alexis trait in this song. Then the disc gets back on track with more of the same Alexisonfire feel. bottom line you can tell the guys are getting older and trying harder but they are losing the youthful spontaneous energy that they had. It feels right but at the same time it doesn't.
