Rise Against
The Sufferer and The Witness [Explicit Content]
Geffen 000697602.
Released on July 4, 2006
|
Rise Against's fourth album, The Sufferer & The Witness, continues to build upon the solid punk foundation the band started upon it’s inception. The Sufferer & The Witness is a striking collection, with Rise Against using elements from spoken word, expanded balladry ,and simply prodding forward with a faster, harder, louder ethic,. In fact, not only does this latest effort find Rise Against infrequently referencing its own extensive back catalog, it's also a homecoming for the band's key production team.

This is possibly my favorite CD! the only song I had heard from this album was "The Approaching Curve", which I heard on my cousin's ipod, and it is one of my all-time favorite songs. But "Injection" and "Prayer of the Refugee" are also awesome. "Drones" is also good. Heck, the whole album rocks. The only thing I don't get is the PARENTAL ADVISORY sticker. For what, one song? And it's the only one I don't care for. Otherwise, either this or The Unraveling is my favorite disk I own. I didn't like SS as much, and RPM is just plain awesome, and Appeal to Reason had some pretty good stuff on it too. I can't wait to buy Endgame! Anyway, stop reading the reviews and buy the CD. Rise Against will always be one of the best bands in the world.

some songs are good but in general i'll say that this cd is nothing new compared to "siren songs" or "RPM" They just repeated the same recipe that they used before.

Love it,i've got all the previous cd's from these talented boys and shall continue to buy everything they can throw at me as long as they continue to produce gems such as these. All tracks have a reason to be on this cd so that makes it hard to pick out any major favourites although i do particularly love Injection,Ready to fall and Prayer for the refugee. For fans of Strike Anywhere and possibly new Anti-Flag,i love both these bands so i'll leave it up to you to decide!

Rise Against is a great band from the new generation of punk. With band like this, i think i'll be able to listen punk rock for the next 10 years at least!
This CD is good, but not their best. I prefer Siren Song Of The Counter Culture...
But it's still good enough to listen this one again & again.

one of the best bands out there right now, rise against cannot put out a bad album. sufferer and witness does not disapoint, though if you want their best album, pick up 'the unravelling'. but get this one too, because it rocks, and so does this band. see them live when you get the chance, you won't be dispointed!

Exactly what you would expect if you have Rise Against's previous albums. Thanks to Rise Against for NOT trying something new and instead giving their fans more of what we love. If you like Rise Against, don't hesitate to buy this album. If you've never heard Rise Against, listen to the "Injection" clip... if you like it, go ahead and buy all Rise Against's albums... if you don't like it, what are you doing at Interpunk's site?

Hey, this album rocks! Thanks to interpunk, I had this pre-ordered, and recieved it a day before it was released. For Rise Against fans everywhere, this album will not dissappoint, although it varies slightly in style for a few songs. I just saw their Australian tour in Sydney, and the songs from this album are great live, and fit perfectly with their older stuff.

The CD is a blend of all the previous Rise Against releases with a little bit more experimentation and major label touching up. I suppose only time will tell if Rise Against sells their sound (and their souls) to a major label, but it didn't happen this time, so pick this one up.

a little more poppy and slick over than their last stuff, but they just signed to a major so what can you really expect? But overall, they didnt completely sellout cos of the label. I just saw them live with thursday and the songs sound badass live, id suggest you check em out if you also like billy talent and circa survive.
