Forming from all areas of Illinois in 2002, THE JUNIOR VARISTY has been a band unafraid of experimentation from the very beginning. First incorporating saxophone, and finally utilizing new wave and prog rock influenced keyboards flowing through textured layers of guitars, THE JUNIOR VARSITY’s imaginative sound has been winning fans over for four years. They released an EP in 2003, followed by their first full length, The Great Compromise, on a small label in 2004. Now, in 2006, THE JUNIOR VARSITY have released Wide Eyed, their debut full length on hometown label Victory Records, and have toured the world alongside bands like PANIC! AT THE DISCO, AIDEN and THE ACADEMY IS. After selling 25,000 records since Wide Eyed’s release in Summer 2005, fans are impatiently waiting for new material from THE JUNIOR VARSITY. On May 30, 2006, THE JUNIOR VARSITY and Victory Records are reintroducing The Great Compromise to the world, complete with B Sides, rarities, and an exclusive DVD documentary that chronicles the history of THE JUNIOR VARSITY! The DVD presents never before seen live footage, interviews and original photographs of the band. The deluxe edition of The Great Compromise includes all original 11 tracks in their entirety, along with previously unreleased demos of fan favorites “Everyone’s Got Something They’re Running Out Of” and “If You Could Paint Your Own Vacation, Where Would You Go?” THE JUNIOR VARSITY classics “Demo Car City” and “Housefire” have also been remixed and remastered for the ultimate THE JUNIOR VARSITY experience. This is the one album that no fan should be without!
