Bleeding Through

Truth

Trustkill 72

Released on January 10, 2006

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The pain, frustration, and despair of the preyed upon and forgotten have been fashioned into a sharpened point on Bleeding Through's landmark new album, "The Truth." Skeletons come forth from the closet, secrets are revealed, and broken promises arise from dirtied earth. Faster yet more melodic, heavier yet more accomplished, more precise while even further off the deep-end into tragedy and loneliness, "The Truth" is a trend-proof middle finger toward the glut of over-saturation that threatens to destroy a scene this band helped to build. "The Truth" is the band's defining album. Stripped to their core, laid bare, like the artwork suggests - putting everything on the table with such naked honesty and painful catharsis their bodies threatened to fall apart from the weight of the boiling passion they've laid to record. There are leaders and there are followers. When all of the so-called movements in underground music catching the "buzz" right now are over, expect to see Bleeding Through standing tall, with integrity, honor, and spirit intact.

I feel I am reviewing this c.d. kindly by awarding it a rating of "3 stars". 2 and a half might be more accurate. Not to say that it is all bad, for there ARE a couple of decent, and even fairly excellent songs to which I must give the credit due, but overall, when taking into account the earlier albums as a comparison, I was somewhat disapointed in "The Truth". If you are a fan of Bleeding Through, then of course you must have this album, but I say unto ye who may be choosing this album as an introduction to this band: try an older one first, and if you must have this one, then do not judge the band too harshly based on this album alone, for the others are grand indeed. Then again, you may not share my taste in music, and perhaps this will trully be a delicacy to your differently tuned ears. So be it. (ah, what an inconclusive and unhelpful review, eh? It's just that I am in such shock after hearing some of it [the almost emo-like gratuitous whining babyish bits {not to say that I stand against the free expression of emotion, but I flinch slightly at the utterly self-pittying, trite sounds I hear here}], that I scarcely know what to say on the subject)

This album is great. The music is fast and aggresive. The guitars are the same as on other Bleeding Through releases; brutal.I don't know what to make of Brendan's newly found vocal talent but it hasn't quite grown on me yet. It's not bad it just sounds like he's trying too hard to sing pretty.I like the raw sound his singing had on "Portrait of the Goddess."The keyboard effects in this one are a lot better than "This is Love, This is Murderous."The lyrics are straight up poetry.Very emotional yet gruesome.I like this album a lot.The sound quality is great.Just another awesome album from an awesome band.

Oh my God, Bleeding Through has done it again. In my opinion this album is much better than they're 1st Trustkill release. A must have for all MetalCore fanatics.

great cd...a lot darker than their last one. typical metalcore but it's just... better. Bleeding Through do metalcore right. If you're a fan, then get it... if not... get it anyways. It's worth it.

well im glad im the first person reviewing this album because its definelty sick. before The Truth i thought bleeding through's best cd was this is love, this is murderous, but now im not too sure. this band has definetly matured but only in good ways and i think this album has insured BT's longevity in the HXC world. pick this cd up today and you wont be dissapointed.
