Smashing pumkins have been my favorite band since I was 4 & I like a lot of the bands on here, so I was hoping to hear some great versions of these songs. Hardly any of them did a good job covering them. The only really good ones were Roses Are Red, A Thorn For Every Heart & A Static Lullaby.Armor For Sleep didn't do too bad. The Rest didn't really do it for me. If you like any of these bands or Smashing Pumkins themselves, stick to their original material.

Well I heard a cover of Today by Poison The Well and it sounded cool, but the songs on this cd are kinda gay. Some of them are good..maybe like half half, but it made me want to listen to the real Smashing Pumpkins.

This is a decent CD. There are some good covers on here (and some really bad ones). After I listened to the whole thing, it made me feel like I didn't like the Smashing Pumpkins as much as I thought I did, which is total bullshit. It's just that some of the bands really ruin TSP for me. I would suggest downloading the good ones and skipping this CD.

Definatley something for fans of Smashing Pumpkins or fans of any of the bands involved. Roses are Red and, A thorn for Every Heart kick off this CD with excellent covers of their respective songs. They bring their fast paced emotion filled emo-punk stylings to the pumpkins tunes and smash it out of the park. Poison The Well (one of my favorite bands) dissapoints on their cover opting to go for an acoustic or ambiant kind of sound with their front man acctually singing through the entire song. Unfortunatley he can't sing very well. The song is palatable but not entirely Poison The Well. Emmanual's mayonaise in my book is the best song on this CD, although that's a biased opinion because mayonaise is my favorite smashing pumpkins song. Armor For Sleep, Vaux, Hopesfall and A Static Lullaby all turn in Stagnant covers of their respective songs. Once again Palatable and fun tunes but they do not stand up to the original pumpkins songs. Murder By Death's singer turns out to an awesome version of We Only Come Out At Night. To me MBD's singer sounds like a young Johnny Cash which is awesome.
Despite the almost identical covers by a lot of bands on this CD it really is an enjoyable CD and worth the time to check out. The only complaint I have is the lack of Pumpkins Tunes covered and lack of Artists involved, at 11 songs it seems sparse considering the pumpkins amount of hits, and imagine if you will bands like Funeral For a Friend, or Thrice and Thursday getting involved in this project. I think it would have turned out a lot better. Not that is is bad ... just lacking.
