Although I don't really care for Against Me! material before "As the Eternal Cowboy", I wanted to get this release due to all the controversy surrounding the band yanking this release from Plan-It-X Records. And it does sound good. This gives you a good glimpse into the band at the beginning. Also Against Me! is a great band, so stop talking some much mess about them just because they are getting better and better and everyone else is content with being stuck in the past.

This is the Against Me! that I love: energetic, raw, and fun. The music is stripped down to a guitar and a drum set. It's a good companion to their Reinventing Axl Rose album, sharing two of the songs. The only fault I have with this EP is that I like the album version of Walking Is Still Honest better than this version.

It's fucking Against me! when they were still fucking amazing. Before their newest album. Eventhough two of the songs are on "Reinventing" it's still worth it.

It's old Against Me! Tom's singing style is closest to Reinventing Axl Rose. I Still Love You Julie and Walkind Is Still Honest are different musically, especially with the drums. I'm pretty sure it's the drummer they had before Warren and even though some stuff he does is cool and all...from the sound of it he doesn't own any cymbals at all (there are a lot of rim clicks). It sounds like he only has a bass, snare, tom, and floor tom. But its worth having just to have if you're a fan.

everybody likes to complain about how Against Me! sold out, and signing to a major label totally contradicts what they have to say on albums like Crime! and the acoustic ep. but anyone who knows the state of the world is fucked knows that it doesnt matter if you sing to a label and become successful, and without albums like Crime! we would all be mindlessy striving forward to the end of the world. Essential album, highly recommended.
