(Mummies,Loose Lips,Count Backwurds,Dukes Of Hamburg,Nagg)

Dollar 11

Released on October 18, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Eight years in the making, and still late for the new school year, comes the debut full-length from Bay Area rock smashers THE FLAKES-current and former members of MUMMIES, LOOSE LIPS, COUNT BACKWURDS, DUKES OF HAMBURG, and NAGG. Fourteen tracks of 1960s-drenched garage-manic-freakbeat magic. Includes original material along with covers of Shadows Of Knight, Sam And Dave, and The Rolling Stones.

Boring, boring, boring. Some of the garagebands should have stayed in the garage... Check out Rawmania or Swingin' Neckbreakers instead.

If they're wasn't a legendary band from Montreal (THE GRUESOMES) who hadn't already claim themselve «tyrant of the teen trash» i would have declare this title to the FLAKES! Here you've got some 50's rock'n'roll («Back to School») ala CHUCK BERRY and his clones....some 60's garage beat like THE SONICS (« Talkin about you» «open your door» «I'm telling you») and some mid 60's psychedelic stuff («love»)that kinda remind me CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND, 13th FLOOR ELEVATOR,etc....and ultimately their is some influence of THE GRUESOMES! So if you dig that kind of stuff their's no way for not diggin this! I'm a Flakes Fan and so do you!
