Formed in Chicago in 1986, Screeching Weasel has weathered break-ups, break-downs, re-formations, changing labels, more break-ups, and more than their fair share of ridicule. Displaying a true "fuck you" attitude, the band, or more accurately, lead singer Ben Weasel, has told it like it is for the better part of two decades. The band’s success has not been based on attitude alone. Since day one Screeching Weasel has displayed a masterful knack for writing some of the catchiest pop-punk tunes known to punk-kind! With a hearty catalog behind them, we thought it only proper to produce a greatest hits of sorts, pulling songs from every era of the band’s career. What would we call it? Weasel Mania. The packaging is filled with images from throughout the band’s career, along with stories from band members, and fans. For the long-time fan this will be standard issue, for the person who’s heard of Screeching Weasel, but has been intimidated by their copious catalog, Weasel Mania will be an introduction to the band’s work, at a cheap price!

Good Best of cd. I still think that this would of been a lot better if they're were two cds instead of one. Screeching Weasel has a lot of other great songs that are not on this album, so that's were the three star rating comes from.

This is an Excellent album for someone that doesn't already own the SW catalog or just wants a few tracks from each album on one CD... Included in the album are SW famed pop-punk anthems such as "hey Suburbia", "My Brian Hurts" and "Supermarket Fantasy". I would have liked to see some more songs from the classic "Kill The Musicians" album, but there are so many great SW tunes, that it is hard to fit everything within a 75 minute time frame. I could do without the later days SW catalog as displayed on tracks 26-34, although "Pervert at Large" is a great song. Maybe you will see a reunion one day, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Along with their former Lookout! counterparts - The Queers and MTX, SW wrote the book on dumb lyric, but catchy three minute anthems. Great songs were always more important than self-indulgent musicianship for Ben and company. SW kept listeners intrigued and had just enough pop in the punk.

Niether good or bad, Its just what it is a compilation of SW songs, If youve never heard them itd be a good introduction, if you have all the CD's already it is not necessary for you.

I Think Ben Weasel did a good job of picking 34 great Screeching Weasel tracks. Sure some of my favorites are not on here, but if all my favorites were on here, there would be too many songs. Some of you may wonder why are they (SW) making a 'greatest hits' album with no new tunes on it as a bonus? For those who don't want to spend alot of many tracking down all of SW's records, this is a great start. As for older fans (like myself) this is a good piece to add to your collection. I'm glad Screeching Weasel is working with Fat Wreck Chords again. I think they make a great team!

Wow, kudos Fat Wreck for releasing this, great price for the amount of songs, EVEYRONE needs to hear this band, truly THE most under rated band in punk history.Ben Weasel is a punk rock genuis, musically the man can do no wrong. Without bands like Screeching Weasel and Descendents there would be no pop punk as we know it( there would be no blink-182 or green day). This band is amazing ( i'm one of the many dumb asses who have their logo tattooed) and this is a solid compilation that goes through their whole career. "Guest List", and "Acknowledge" should have been on here though, that is the only minus.Let's hope for a future reformation of the band and a tour.
