Somewhere between heaven and hell waits THE TOSSERS. Chicago's precursor to LA's FLOGGING MOLLY and Boston's DROPKICK MURPHYS, THE TOSSERS are the perfect Irish hybrid. THE TOSSERS play their own brand of Irish music loaded
with attitude and alcohol. Born and raised on Chicago’s tough, working class South Side, brothers Tony and Aaron Duggins
formed THE TOSSERS twelve years ago out of a love of traditional Irish folk music. After four releases on a small
label, Chicago’s own Victory Records took notice of these hometown heroes. THE TOSSERS drew on the luck of the Irish,
and were signed to the label on St. Patrick’s Day 2005! Their new full length album, The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death,
will fi nally put THE TOSSERS side by side with their contemporaries, and down in Irish folk music history. Inspirations
ranging from Irish classics to the Grand Ole Opry, early rock and roll and country keeps the music interesting and unpredictable.
A marriage of traditional instrumentation (mandolin, banjo, fi ddle and tin whistle) with the raucous turmoil of
punks gives THE TOSSERS their organic folk sound and rebellious reputation.

"well it's 3 o'cloccckkkk at the end of the dayyyyy!!!!" AHHHHHHH, i fucking love this cd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the BEST irish fucking music ever!!!! I just sit there in my room and listen to this shit every day all day all week!!!!!! And when i go to school i'm drivin down da road just blasting the Tossers outta my speakers!!!!! There's some fast songs, some slow songs, and some songs that are of medium speed!!!!!!!
My favorite songs are I've Pursued Nothing, Criminal of Me, and the title track The Valley of the Shadow of Death cuz it's soooooooo badass. Some of the songs are fun and about drinking and shiz, and some of the songs are really serious about like relationships and shiz, i LOVE IT!!!!!!!!11

I've had this CD for almost 9 months now, it's still really fun to listen to. At first I wasn't that impressed with it, the only songs I really liked were the few I heard before I bought it. Then I put it on shuffle the next day and just let it play through it a few times and realized just how good it was. If you are into the Pogues or Flogging Molly, you should at least check them out. This one led me to buy their other 3 c.d's, so that says something.

Fantastic CD. More folky than punk and a perfect follow on from the Pogues '...Fall From Grace with God' album. They are already compared to the Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly, but for me all 3 bands other a variation on a theme and ultimatley are different from each other. That said fans of them will enjoy. My advice? Grab a few brews, some mates, turn this cd up loud and have a hooley!

Good old catchy Irish music - nothing better. I'm not sure how anybody could classify this as "punk" though (one of the songs does talk about Dee Dee Ramone I guess). The album is very good - some fast, some slow, some in between stuff. Just don't expect a hardcore punk band or even the Dropkick Murphy's when you buy it - it's pretty much Irish Folk. They aren't The Pogues by any stretch, but they are really good and this album is worth getting if you are into that type of sound.

The Tossers are great American-Irish punk rock (drunken antics aside). The Valley of the Shadow of death is the Tosser's most polished album yet, though it still retains the barroom spirit of past albums and live shows. There are fast songs to dance to, such as Goodmornin' Da and A Criminal of Me, slow tunes to drink to, including I've Persued Nothing, and the political Go Down Witch Go Down.
A classic album every American-Irish punk should grab!

Another great album by Chicago's finest Celtic-punk band (who, by the way, pre-date both Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys). I think album is better than "Purgatory", their last album. Fans of the Pogues should enjoy this.
