Let Go

Let Go

(Stereo, Pollen, Gloritone)

Militia Group 37

Released on October 4, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Hailing from the deserts of Tempe, AZ, where cacti run rampant and there’s sand everywhere underfoot, LET GO have been planning their emergence from the heat. Formed from the musical collision of members from The Stereo, Gloritone and Pollen, Let Go drinks from the same taps as Jimmy Eat World and The Format, but creates a sound all their own.

When vocalist/guitarist Jamie Woolford felt the need to augment his demos with some added muscle, Let Go was born with the addition of bassist Chris Serafini and drummer Scott Hessel.

Since a majority of the songs had been floating around Jamie’s studio in differing states of completion, the band spent a good deal of the time tracking, firming up certain passages, and sometimes rewriting. But what they’ve ended up with is an impressive collection of tight and powerful rock songs that deliver shark-sized hooks inside refreshing lyrical content.

Before I got this cd I wasn't sure what to expect but bought it because of Jamie Woolford from the Stereo being its manin member, and I am glad I did. It is a great cd and I even like it better than most Stereo stuff because its a little bit harder and has some heavier guitars. I think if you are a fan of Hey Mercedes you will like this cd alot. There are some great songs on here so go out and buy it.

The Stereo was pretty much the most under-appreciated powerpop/rock act in the indie scene for the last 5 years. Jamie Woolford's heartfelt lyrics and catchy hooks has given me hours of listening pleasure.

Jamie's new band, LET GO, picks up where The Stereo left off, and actually improves on some aspects. This album tends to rock a lot harder than most of Jamie's previous work, mostly due to the drumming of Scott Hessel. Chris Serafini's bass work is solid, and provides a great backbone to the songs.

I would highly recommend this CD. Buy it, and then go check out any of The Stereo's CDs if you like it. They're similar and also very good.
