Huntingtons

Growing Up Is No Fun: The Standards '95-'05

Tooth & Nail

Released on June 21, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

From the release of their debut album, “Sweet Sixteen” in 1996 through the remainder of their altering cast and 10 year history, one thing has remained consistent for fans of the Ramones inspired Huntingtons: Fun. Packing releases and live shows with 2 minute pop-punk ditties about relationships, class geek-dom and just growing up, The Huntingtons have prided themselves on holding their simplistic approach at the helm of their rock style. Now, in celebration of their 10 year history and final tour, Tooth & Nail presents 30 Huntingtons classics along with unreleased tracks to form, “Growing Up Is No Fun.” It’s a guaranteed good time!

I have a major problem with discovering greatness too late. from the first moment I heard this band I was hooked. One of the best Ramones-core pop punk bands of our time. I like every song on this disc. I understand how hard it would be to choose only 30 songs as your standards, but I think they did a great job. Sure there could have been others chosen, but I think think this album perfectly exemplifies the Huntingtons prowess. Very fun, catchy, and emotive songs. Yes, I like the sensitive Huntington works. If you are just discovering this band, do yourself a favor and buy this album. Especially since they don't currently offer any other full lengths on here. Hope this band has a reunion tour. Wouldn't that be great?

Classic and notable songs: Too Late, I'm Not Going Downtown, We Don't Care, Hooray For You, 1985, Tell Me Goodnight, I Don't Like It, Maybe It's You

Wow... i'm pretty shocked at their song choice for a greatest hits. The only songs on here that I like are "Your The Only One", "1985" & "No Pool Party Tonight". This CD is full of tracks I would not have put on a Huntington's greatest hits. I also think that it sucks that Tooth N' Nail dosen't stock their albums anymore. What a crap world we live in...sometimes.
