Its simple...These guys are fucking great! This is just pure-raw-urgent-angry hardcore without any pretense. No singing bitch drummer. No black eyeliner. No shirts with cutesy skulls. Just hardcore that makes you want to get up and break something. These guys simply blew me away. I feel so lame for just discovering these guys. Im at a loss for a real comparison...The best I can think of is Poison The Well. I cant find anyone not liking this CD (or any of their CDs). What a band name too...So apt to this cesspool of a world we live in...Modern Life Is War. This ones alot slower than My Love My Way for most of the songs but still pretty damn intense. Id recommend everything by these guys

I was a little hesitant when first listening to this album. At first the tempo seems to drag it down. It kind of seemed to lack a real punch, but, after a couple listens it grew on me.

Modern Life Is War is easily one of the best bands in hardcore right now.

Their style is really unique aswell. This album doesn't contain a single breakdown. Also, the tempo for the most part is pretty slow. Yet, this album still kicks so much ass. So much energy.

Great hardcore punk album, defintly for fans of bane. Real catchy without sounding poppy, aggressive as hell with a hint of melancholy. It simply just sounds like honest youthful angst at it's best. Great buy. My love My way is also a great album.

It's a famtamstic release, it was bringing enjoyment to my heart. It's rather short, my cousin copped this, he is rad, of course I told him to cop it. Then again, fools know this be MLIW, they bring it the fuck on! Only a total shithead would deny that!

I love this album. It's great slow to midpaced hardcore. What's great about it is that, despite the slowish tempo, it always feels like punk rock, never metal or metalcore. The lyrics are personal and passionate. D.E.A.D.R.A.M.O.N.E.S. is one of the best songs, both musically and emotionally I've heard in a long time (and definitely contributes to the punk rock vibe the album has), and I can't wait to shout it along with them when they come to DC in June with Bane. Good hardcore filled with emotion and personal expression.

I may be alone, but the vocalist's scream holds an uncanny resemblance to Tim McIlrath of Rise Against... but hardcore, not overproduced, etc. This album is very good for hardcore. Give up the Ghost is pretty obvious in its sound, especially in the production. Some songs drag a bit, but the songs that rock do it well, and hard, and what you expect. I bought this because I saw them with Terror and Comeback Kid, and I don't see why fans of either shouldn't like Modern Life is War. And if you turn your back on any hardcore band that makes any money, this band is for you as well.

Modern life is war is my favorite band in hardcore right now. Pounding yet melodic with great lyrics. This release is a little bit slower than My love, My Way...and it took a couple listens for it to grow on me. Although I love this record, I don't think it is as good as My love, My Way, so if you are new to MLIW, pick up that record first. Tracks 1, 6, and 7 are the best.
