If Debbie Harry and Devo met and fell in love
at a punk squat, then plotted to create a
hybrid band in their likeness and image, they
would be The EPOXIES! From their sound
laboratory in Portland, Oregon, The EPOXIES
transport us back to a time when there was
not a distinction between punk rock and new
wave. Led by the spastically melodic vocals
of Roxy Epoxie, the band blends the traditional
tools of punk rock (guitar, bass, and
drums) with vintage monophonic synthesizers!
On their second full length, The EPOXIES
command us to Stop The Future. If the
thirteen songs on this album are not enough
to bring you to the other side, then certainly
the bands live show will. Fog machines, laser
tunnels, and strobe lights work in unison as
the band, dressed in vinyl and wrapped in
electrical tape, pump out dance punk rock
that stimulates something instinctual deep in
the brain stem which will not allow you to
stand still!

Not nearly as good as Epoxies first album, but still alright. It seemed to me like Roxy was very dull on this album. She needs to be singing at the top of her lungs and going crazy like she did on the s/t. 3/5

This CD was extremely jawesome. Its really jawesome punk with synthesizers and a female singer, Roxy Epoxy. She is jawesome also. The artwork is really jawesome. Its one of those Cds that when you get it it is all you listen to for about a month. All in all this CD is jawesome to the Max Rapid Fire.

I'm not a big fan of this. However, if you like the drop kick murphies with a girl singer, or rather the Tossers, you would like this album.

I fell in love with the Epoxies after an amazing live show at The Eagle in San Francisco, where I purchased their first, eponymous CD, "Epoxies". The Ramones + Devo + Siouxie Sioux = super fun happy time making! Their second CD, "Stop the Future", lives up to, and surpasses their first. The extra polish in production does nothing to diminish their ultra-caffeinated style or the-future-is-plastic song content. Roxy Epoxy is in great voice here, and the slightly new line up (Goodbye Dr. Grip and Kid Polymer, hello Ray Cathode and Shock Diode) is still super tight. If we could somehow figure out a way to get these folks some radio play, I think they'd catch on and become the success story they deserve to be.

I've been waiting for this cd for what seems forever...three years! I was a bit worried with the Epoxies move from dirtnap to fat rec., but thankfully they delivered an awesome second cd, maybe better than the first? So far (i've only had the cd for a few days) Radiation, Synthesized and Wind Me Up are the stand out songs. Oh, and after a little online research it appears that there's a Scorpions cover...Robot Man, totally weird and great. If you like punk rock, Souxie, Devo, and Adam and the Ants, then this is for you. With all the new 80's retro bands, it's a relief to find one like The Epoxies who are actually fun and not so serious. See them live if you want to dance and freak out 80's style.

I had very high expectations for this record simply because the Epoxies last release on Dirtnap Records was so refreshing. However, I'm tad bit dissapointed with this release. I like the robots cover song and "Everything Looks Beautiful In Video". I have listened to this CD about five times now and I just can't get into some of the songs. I think this band is very capable of making a classic album. They just haven't done it yet. The Epoxies imagery, photos, artwork is beautiful, but they need to bring those elements alive in their music.
